Kaito Nakamura (Hiro's father) likely has some power. I think his power is immortality. Here's why:

  1. In Landslide, he mentions to Hiro that he's been waiting for generations for some spirit/power to manifest, and didn't think it was in Hiro, but now he sees that it is. Has his family been waiting this long, or has Kaito himself been waiting?
  2. In the preview for Season 2, Hiro sees a samurai warrior on a horse. It looks like George Takei's eyes in there. It is just family resemblance, or is it Kaito himself in there?

Immortality is also time-related, so maybe there's a time theme to the powers in that family.

Another power I'm waiting for is the ability to see alternative futures. Linderman somehow knew that he needed to get Niki and DL together so that he could use Micah's power to help Nathan win the election. If Niki and DL hadn't gotten together, even Isaac's power wouldn't have predicted that Micah would be born or that he would have the power he does. I think we need a different sort of foretelling power than what Isaac has; it's possible Kaito has this. My top choice for Kaito's power though is still immortality.

Update: [2007-09-30] Given the events of Four Months Later, both in revealing Kensei, and in the events on top of the Duveaux Building, it seems unlikely that Kaito is immortal.

Update: [2007-11-09] My original theory was that Kaito was Kensei, and immortal, but although Kaito is not Kensei, it looks like Kensei is indeed immortal. And he's probably trying to destroy the world in an attempt to put his broken hearted self out of his misery.

any theories on what power nathan/peter's mom has? and has it been contradicted that both parents must have powers in order for their progeny to have powers? i can't quite remember.

I love Heroes, and I also had the same thought re: Hiro's dad's power being immortality. But despite my love for the show, a few things are really bothering me about it:

1. When in serious fights, Peter hardly makes use of his powers. He should automatically go invisible, fly above ground, and then use telekinesis to fight (as well as reading his enemy's mind).

2. Although almost everyone's goal was to get rid of Sylar, nobody seemed to bother to make sure he was finished off. Ridiculous.

3. We're led to believe that Sylar is fairly physically vulnerable, but getting hit with a metal pole wielded by someone with super strength didn't affect him like it would any other human.

I know this hasn't been commented to for a while, but i just wanted to giv a bit more evidence on the immortal kaito theory;

When kaito meets hiro at the sword shopp and teaches hiro how to fight, he begins by partly unsheathing his sword. At this time, you can see a reflection of his eyes and part of his face looking much younger....

so yeah... pret-ty sure he-s immortal or sumthin :P

perhapps kaito nakamura is a vessel for kensai, who is immortal, and when kensai gets out of his body his weak.
i also think kensai is the great great great great grandad of all of the heroes.

i think that sylar will meet niki and cut off her head to take her power, then all of a sudden will turn good with the alternate ego thing, does that come with her super strength?

what power does hiros mum have?
oh and i have a few questions.how does sylar get peoples brains into his, does he eat them or put them fru the back of his head cause when he was locked up u see a hole in back of his head.
how does peter get scar on his face in future when he can heal?
anyone on heroes ever gonna get power to run REAL fast?
maybe whats nathan n peters mums power.whered sylar get ice power from?
does anyone know HRGs name?
is kaitos power to kill?because when linderman heals the plant he says "a few things" and when hiro asks his dad what he could possiblely know about KILLING he says the same,"a few things".
anyone think D.L kills linderman in the coolest/sickest way?i mean he pulls his brain out!
where did sylar get cut peoples top of heads off power or does he have a REALY small razorblade in his sleeve that whizzes with his telekenetesisty powery thing and cuts it off.
will sylar get cancer like the girl that could remember stuff.
whats mohinders lil sisters power and that clashes with the "both parents must have powers" theory cause neither of mohinders parents had powers?did nikis dad have powers?did D.Ls?can sylar take the heysains powers?cause the heyshuns power would stop his before he could cut off his head.

wilie182 wrote at Monday, December 3, 2007 at 3:22:00 AM PST

i think that sylar should go after hiro nakamura and go back in time to EVERY hero ever alive and take there powers.Oh and peters best thing to fight would be turn invisable while flying them get flames, radiation, ice and stuff he can move with his mind to fly around him while he reads enemys mindand blocks out there powers with heyshun and matts skills, then teleport next to them and use super strength and D.Ls power to reach into them AND rake out everythingside/ make them have illusions with candices power.

wilie182: I think the powers come from a recessive gene, so both parents might be powerless and the child could have powers. And it does seem likely that Kensei is the first one with powers.

It seems unlikely that the creators of Heroes will answer all the questions we have…

In the future Sylar cuts off the top of claires head to take her power, her regeneration should have healed it up but it did not. This means that Sylar must at some point have taken the Hatians power.
